Kenneth Shorr

Photographer Kenneth Shorr's sepia toned images of curious found object sculptures, and his portraiture of obscure toys evoke both sentimental and reactionary thoughts in the viewer. Hailed as the Franz Kafka of the photography world, Shorr showcases the absurdity and paradox of daily life. ourmeds.org

By manipulating the logos from corporate America and from 1950s advertising images, Shorr shows us the roles that imagery and fascism play in our culture and sexuality. His photographs are haunting, funny, and often unsettling.
